Belladonna is a homeopathic remedy traditionally considered for sudden, intense presentations where heat, redness, throbbing and sensitivity are prominent features.

Traditionally considered for

• Sudden fever and inflammation, particularly where symptoms develop quickly with a high temperature, flushed or reddened skin, heat and sensitivity to light, sound or touch.

• Sudden, throbbing headaches, particularly where pain is intense and accompanied by sensitivity to light, sound or touch, and sometimes nausea.

• Sore throat and respiratory symptoms, where the throat feels dry, hot or inflamed, swallowing is uncomfortable and there may be a sensation of tightness or constriction.

• Burns and sunburn, traditionally considered where the skin is red, hot, shiny and painful, with throbbing discomfort that may be aggravated by touch. It is also traditionally associated with presentations of heat exposure where the face is flushed and the head feels intensely painful.

• Red, irritated eyes, particularly where the eyes appear bright red, dry and inflamed, with throbbing discomfort, marked light sensitivity and dilated pupils.
