Bryonia is a homeopathic remedy traditionally considered for presentations where dryness, soreness and symptoms that are aggravated by movement are prominent features. The person may prefer to remain completely still, as even small movements can make their discomfort feel worse.

Traditionally considered for

• Dry, persistent coughs, particularly where the cough develops gradually, movement aggravates the symptoms and coughing causes soreness or pain through the chest.

• Joint and muscle discomfort, especially where movement increases pain and rest provides relief, with associated stiffness or inflammation.

• Digestive discomfort, including nausea, constipation and a dry mouth, particularly where there is a strong thirst for larger quantities of water.

• Headaches, particularly where movement makes the pain worse and there is a sensation of heaviness, pressure or fullness in the head, often accompanied by irritability and a strong desire to rest quietly.
